We successfully bought tickets for the bus from Shanghai to Hangzhou and are on it. I was thinking it would be a school bus, but it’s more like a tour bus- pretty nice, although I expect in three hours we will be ready to be off of it.
We got into Shanghai at 2pm local time, made it through customs and immigration, and found our hotel. It was attached to the airport on a skyway. Beautiful and slightly worn. We had one room, grandparents in the other. We had dinner and breakfast at the buffet, which were not the finest meals I have ever had in China, but were the closest to our hotel rooms last night, and that is really what we were going for.
China is so beautiful. I remembered it was beautiful, but remembering it isn’t like seeing it.
