Four hours til Dallas.

Why are we dong customs in Dallas? It was cheaper. Should we ever do this again am I ponying up the damn money to have a stop in Asia rather than in the states and be able to get in the car and go home after the killer flight. We are a smidge away from Vancouver island, curving down, heading for Texas. Everyone on the plane is homicidal. It’s 11am in dfw, which means it’s midnight where we all got up this morning. I expect we will all live til Texas, but I just got glare of instant death from the woman sitting next to me when Aglet knocked her leg going to the bathroom. Ten hours ago she thought I was a saint.

I think you saw this picture already but it’s the most cheerful one I have.

Headed to airport in ten hours.

Everyone’s nerves are stretched thin, the kids are racing around, and it’s one of those days that makes a parent need a drink. But we are packed, we have Rhizome’s paperwork, and in thirty six hours we will be home. I will not tell you how many of those hours will be in transport, because then you’d cry. Or I would. Hard to tell.

But today we went to the zoo. It was splendid for the small animals and appalling for the big ones, as zoos frequently are.
