today, some of us had watermelon and fried rice for breakfast. some of us had eggs and bacon. the aglet still thinks that cheerios are the best thing ever. we then came back upstairs, wiped the rice out of our ears (okay, not everyone’s ears), and spiffed up a little, to go to back to the provincial office to do the formal adoption ceremony and get the paperwork.
first, there was sitting around in the office waiting for the paperwork to be done, with the other families. the kids ran around some, climbed on the tables, and were generally slightly shell shocked kids. there was also some diaper changing. the aglet is, in theory, trained, but we are Doing It All Wrong and since we do not currently share a language, it’s diapers. we will figure this out once we get home.
the officials came back with the paperwork, and our guide said grab your camera! and we went down to the far side of the room, and she read the offical adoption decree and i started to cry and then the aglet grabbed my glasses with both hands and tried to pry them off my face, which made me laugh. he is a goof.
we came back to the hotel, unpacked, and then went to mcdonalds for lunch. we hope to be more adventurous for dinner, but there’s only so long that you can look for the noodle place around the corner when it is 95 degrees out and you have a toddler with.
speaking of which, he just woke up from his nap. more later!
