i bought a crib this weekend.

my dad and i trekked up to maple grove, and put it in his car, and now it’s in my garage. in a few weeks, it will go into the purple room (aka where the baby will be), once the housemate moves out.

it feels weird. i mean, the usual way to plan for babies involves concrete visible changes that you can sort of plan along with. this way it involves a lot of writing essay questions and doing things that have no visible consequences except for my savings balance going down, and the theory is, in a few months time someone will hand me a baby.

which i’m looking forward to. don’t get me wrong.

but there’s nothing physical to hang on to. except for the crib. which i’m hoping to have a baby to put into it.
